For work I’m the executive director of a non-profit, a community organizer, a former singer (if that’s possible), former chef (if that’s possible) and sometimes writer living outside of Boston. Nearly 23 years ago I adopted my two sons from Paraguay, and since then have happily defined my real and most important job as “mother,” mostly functioning as a single parent.
Some years ago I wrote my first blog, LettersFromaBroad about taking my sons to find their birth mothers in Paraguay. Now life is changing again (I’ve noticed it never asks my permission) as my sons leave home, and as I lose and gain things that matter to me. So a different blog seemed necessary, about living, being a parent, not being a parent, and figuring out what to do with the “last third” of life as it weaves around all the best intentions.
I am confused when trying to take a selfie.
